Plantain Bowl
Plantain Bowl is warm and inviting fried plantain wall art that celebrates one of the most beloved foods across African, Caribbean, and diaspora kitchens. Featuring a bowl overflowing with golden-brown fried plantain, this SmardArt piece turns a familiar comfort food into rich, appetizing kitchen artwork.
The close-up composition fills the frame with thick slices of ripe plantain. Golden centers contrast with caramelized brown edges, creating warmth, texture, and depth throughout the piece.
Rather than adding unnecessary background elements, the artwork allows the food to command attention. The result is simple, vibrant, and instantly recognizable to anyone who knows the joy of freshly fried plantain.
Fried Plantain Wall Art Inspired by Food and Culture
Some foods carry memories with them.
The smell of plantain frying can bring back family dinners, weekend meals, celebrations, or time spent in the kitchen. Plantain Bowl celebrates that connection between food and memory.
Fried plantain appears across many cuisines, with preparation styles varying between countries, cultures, and households. That versatility is part of what makes it so familiar to people across the African and Caribbean diaspora.
The artwork captures the plantain at its most tempting stage. Rich caramelization gives each slice its own texture, while the overflowing bowl creates a feeling of abundance.

Shipping took a while but it was worth the wait!!!
I just love this image so much!!
This is my first time ordering from Smard Art, after following the brand on instagram for years and I must say I am not dissatisfied at all. The only thing I will say is that, I think there should be another way to protect the images, especially if they’re travelling internationally as my images were slightly damaged in the sides, but thankfully the picture frame hides the damage.
Store owner replied: Thank you so much for your support and for choosing SMARD for your first order. We’re glad you loved the artwork. We’re sorry the edges arrived slightly damaged during transit, and we really appreciate your feedback. We’ll be sharing this with our team as we continue improving how our prints are protected during shipping.

I bought 3 posters and I like how the first 2 came out, but the third one I bought was a different print than what I saw in my purchase.
Store owner replied: We’re sorry to hear that the third print you received was different from what you expected based on your purchase. We’re glad you loved the first two, but we understand how disappointing it is when one item doesn’t match what you ordered. We’ve reached out to you directly so we can look into what happened and work with you to get this resolved.
